Wincor Nixdorf to Take Charge of IT System Services at 2,300 Aral Service Stations in Germany

As of January 1, 2014, Wincor Nixdorf will assume responsibility for providing services for IT systems at the service stations in Germany owned by BP and operated under the Aral brand. This includes maintenance and recovery of the IT infrastructure over a five-year period, with the aim of ensuring the availability of more than 25,000 devices at 2,300 of the total of around 2,500 Aral stations in Germany.

Wincor Nixdorf will supply the maintenance and repair services for devices from different vendors, including POS systems and back-office PCs. Various recovery times in the event of problems have been agreed to reflect the impact of the problem.

The BP subsidiary Tankstellen Servicegesellschaft (TSG) will be responsible for providing the end user help desk, while Wincor Nixdorf looks after rectifying problems, i.e. with all callouts where technicians have to repair or replace systems or install new ones.

All in all, Wincor Nixdorf was able to persuade Aral of the advantages of working together with an internationally oriented partner. Wincor Nixdorf received a high rating based on its extensive experience in providing services for service stations.

“We offer Aral consistent service delivery standards and processes. They are flexible enough to cover the different POS and back-office solutions and also help optimize costs,” says Ralf Koritzius, Vice President Service for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at Wincor Nixdorf.
