British Council Nigeria Launches Online Payments for IELTS Tests

The British Council announced the launch of a new online payment system for IELTS (International English Language Testing System) tests in Nigeria.

Users can now pay online using their Visa or MasterCard debit or credit cards.

IELTS is the world’s most popular English test and is accepted by over 6,000 organizations in 135 countries. Over one and a half million people take IELTS exams every year worldwide, and British Council Nigeria is keen to improve access by opening up more centers and increasing the number of sessions held every month. IELTS tests are currently available at centers in Abuja, Benin, Enugu, Ibadan, Lagos and Port-Harcourt with more centers opening up in the coming months.

The new system will make it easier for candidates wherever they are in Nigeria, to sign up and pay for a test from the comfort of their homes and offices. Payments using Visa and MasterCard are currently live with more service providers coming soon.

Once payment is made, candidates will need to send in 2 passport photographs, a copy of bio-data page from their international passport and IELTS registration payment confirmation to our offices in Abuja, Lagos or Port-Harcourt.

Payments for IELTS tests can also be made via bank draft or via direct deposit at First Bank or Standard Chartered Bank branches in Nigeria.
