Centenary Bank of Uganda has unveiled CenteMobile, a mobile banking service for its customers. The service supports funds transfers, account and statement queries as well as airtime purchases and bill payments. It can be accessed on all mobile networks including MTN, Airtel, Warid, Orange and Uganda Telecom. The service is supported for both simple and smart phones.
The service is designed to suit the needs of individuals, sole proprietors and companies with the capacity of making individualized transactions. “It will enable customers pay for the goods at hardware stores, taxis, pharmacies, boda boda, kiosks, retailers, transporters, contractors – you name it. All one has to do is to open an account with Centenary Bank and ask your supplier or buyer to open an account in the bank.” Kababure added.
Speaking at the unveiling of the service at Mapeera House, Allen Ayebare, the Chief Manager Corporate Affairs and Communications said, “The introduction of CenteMobile means that Centenary Bank’s 1.3 million customers and anyone in Uganda who owns a mobile phone can now access and enjoy affordable financial services wherever a mobile telecommunications network exists. All they have to do is sign up for the service to enjoy the benefits.”
CenteMobile has been designed with a variety of services and features , “Just like many Centenary Bank products and services, this one comes with affordable and competitive rates, meaning that customers are going to save a lot of money and time when it comes to transacting with us.” Edith Kababure, the Chief Manager E-Banking, Centenary Bank noted.
