The National Microfinance Bank (NMB) Managing Director, Mr Mark Wiessing, completes his tenure as CEO of the firm on February 28, this year, it was announced in Dar es Salaam.
NMB Board of Directors Chairman, Professor Joseph Semboja, said Mr Wiessing would be replaced by Ms Ineke Bussemaker.
He said Mr Wiessing has been appointed Rabobank Regional Head South America and General Manager Brazil, effective May 1, this year.
“Under Mark’s tenure the bank (NMB) has continued to invest in existing and new branches as well as new products, technologies and alternative distribution channels, to ensure that NMB remains relevant to all its stakeholders nationwide,” Prof Semboja said.
“These investments and a strong focus on improving the customer experience over time have contributed to NMB’s market leading financial results, which in turn constitute a solid foundation for the future,” he added.
Ms Bussemaker joins NMB from Rabobank where she was a senior executive in the bank’s payments division.
Prior to that, Ms Bussemaker had a varied career at Citibank and ABN Amro Bank in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Denmark. Her experience ranges from corporate banking, to payments and e-business and country management.
