EFT Corporation, a leading provider of innovative payment solutions across African markets, today announced Adri Führi’s appointment as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective immediately.
Führi brings over 25 years of extensive financial services experience to her new role, including over a decade of serving as CFO across multiple organisations. A qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa), she joins EFT Corporation from e4, where she played a pivotal leadership role during a period of rapid expansion. At e4, she was instrumental in strengthening financial frameworks, driving sustainable growth, and positioning the company as a key player in the digital transformation of financial services.
Führi’s career spans a broad range of industries, including banking, financial services, insurance, and technology, giving her a uniquely holistic perspective on the evolving financial landscape. She spent more than 12 years at Standard Bank South Africa (SBSA), where she gained deep experience across several African markets. During her time at SBSA, she developed specialised expertise in technically complex areas of the business, building a reputation for strategic insight and operational rigour. Her career also includes senior financial leadership roles in both multinational corporations and private equity-backed businesses, where she successfully navigated fast-changing regulatory environments and growth cycles.
“I’m thrilled to join EFT Corporation at such an exciting phase of the Group’s growth journey,” said Führi. “The payments industry offers tremendous opportunities, particularly across African markets, where innovation is driving financial inclusion at an unprecedented pace. I look forward to contributing my experience to support EFT Corporation’s strategic expansion, while building strong, collaborative teams that can deliver sustainable value.”
In her new role as Group CFO, Führi will be responsible for leading EFT Corporation’s financial strategy and operations across multiple markets. Her initial focus will include financial optimisation, operational efficiency, and supporting strategic growth initiatives as the Group continues to expand its footprint. Immediate priorities include gaining a comprehensive understanding of EFT Corporation’s operations, enhancing finance processes, and ensuring that financial strategies align with broader business objectives, particularly as the company scales its activities in key markets such as Ethiopia and Kenya.
Führi is passionate about collaborative leadership and fostering diverse perspectives. With formal experience in leadership coaching, she adopts a coaching-oriented approach to team development and has a strong personal commitment to advancing STEM skills for girls and women in technology. Her leadership philosophy is anchored in the belief that diverse, empowered teams drive better decision-making and innovation — a mindset that aligns strongly with EFT Corporation’s values and culture.
“Adri brings exactly the kind of strategic financial leadership we need as we scale our operations and product offerings,” said Mike Smits, Group Managing Director of EFT Corporation. “Her proven track record in high-growth environments, combined with her deep understanding of African markets and the fintech ecosystem, makes her an invaluable addition to our executive team. We are confident that her leadership will play a key role in supporting EFT Corporation’s ambition to shape the future of digital payments across the continent.”
As EFT Corporation continues to broaden its product suite and strengthen its regional presence, the appointment reflects the company’s focus on long-term sustainability and innovation. By adding senior financial leadership of Führi’s calibre, the Group is positioning itself to accelerate its growth trajectory, enhance operational excellence, and deepen partnerships with financial institutions across the continent.
EFT Corporation has a long-standing reputation as a trusted partner in the payments industry, enabling banks and businesses to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative payment solutions. As the Group enters its next phase of growth, Führi’s appointment underscores EFT Corporation’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team and aligning its financial strategy with its ambitious vision for expansion across Africa’s dynamic markets.
