Enkryptis Leads the Way with New Key Injection Facility and Certification

Enkryptis, a specialist payment security provider in South Africa, has announced it has achieved the Payment Card Industry Point to Point Encryption (P2PE) and PCI PIN security certifications for their state of the art key injection facility in Johannesburg. The assessments and subsequent certifications were completed by Foregenix, an accredited qualified security assessor and industry experts in the payment security industry. This means that Enkryptis is one of only three P2PE certified key injection facilitis in South Africa and the first the first Fully biometric KIF in Africa.

Enkryptis provides key injection services for a range of card payment devices, both within P2PE and PCI PIN environments, as well as key injection for businesses that require a proprietary solution. Our customers will include banks, payment device manufacturers and payment service providers.

The Enkryptis team is committed to industry leading accuracy and efficient turnaround for all key injection and related services, with world class chain of custody, logistics, rapid deployment, secure storage, trouble free integration and customer service and with 24/7 capabilities. The Enkryptis KIF is centrally located in Ferndale, Johannesburg close to both of Johannesburg’s two international airports and Sandton, South Africa’s main business hub.

  • Enkryptis secured the PCI SSC P2PE certification in January 2019 and the Visa PCI PIN certification in November 2018.
  • The PCI P2PE certification can be viewed on the PCI SSC website: https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/assessors_and_solutions/point_to_point_encryption_components#tab-g3hi
  • Merchants using PCI-listed P2PE solutions have fewer applicable PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) requirements, which helps simplify compliance efforts.
  • A P2PE component is a subset of P2PE services including encryption management, decryption management, and key injection, which are provided by a P2PE component provider and included in the P2PE component listing on the PCI website.

Elliot Bunney, Managing Director, Enkryptis

“We wanted to demonstrate to the payment industry in South Africa how seriously we take meeting industry standards by securing these validations on PCI P2PE and PCI PIN for our key injection facility. P2PE will soon be the gold standard for all payment solution providers and merchants. We are already in final discussions with leading players in the payment industry including banks, device vendors and payment service providers to provide key injection, software loading and repair services. However, unlike other key injection providers, Enkryptis specialises in these services and our focus is on delivering a world class, quality service.”

Paolo Basilio, Head of P2PE, Foregenix

“Enkryptis has demonstrated an excellent level of compliance to the PCI P2PE and PCI PIN Security standards. I commend them on their efforts in achieving this very important status. The facility’s access control is fully biometric and uses a combination of facial recognition and fingerprint reading to identify users which is very impressive. Foregenix have had extensive experience in assessing KIFs all over the world and this is the very first fully biometric KIF that we have come across. This just proves that South Africa is able to compete with and even lead the way when it comes to payment security. This is Foregenix’s first year working with Enkryptis and they have demonstrated that they are a company who has security and industry standards such as PCI as a top priority which is critical in today’s payment enviroment.”
