Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd (JBME) has appointed Roy Zaatar as Managing Director, Senior Advisor and Group Head, joining its Middle East and Africa leadership team in Dubai as of 16 September 2026, according to a press release dated 28 September 2026.
Zaatar leads a group of relationship managers covering the region and reports to Regis Burger, Head of Middle East and Africa at Julius Baer.
He brings close to two decades of experience and spent the past 11 years with Barclays in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), most recently as Team Leader and Market Head for Arab Diaspora and Global India. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Credit Agricole (Suisse) SA.
Burger said Zaatar brings an established client network across the Middle East, deep market expertise and strategic experience that will support Julius Baer as it deepens its regional footprint and delivers its wealth management capabilities to clients.
JBME has been present in the DIFC since its inception and holds licence number 1, having been the first firm authorised by the Dubai Financial Services Authority. Julius Baer said the appointment builds on its long-standing presence in the DIFC and reflects its continued investment in its Middle East and Africa leadership.
Julius Baer Group had assets under management of CHF547 billion at the end of June 2026 and is present in around 25 countries.
