ROAM, has announced that the company will provide a mobile point of sale (mPOS) solution for the non-profit Direct Selling Education Foundation’s (DSEF) fundraising effort during the upcoming DSA 2014 Annual Meeting.
ROAM’s participation in the event is the latest example of the company’s growth within the non-profit fundraising segment. ROAM has partnered with key non-profit service providers such as Blackbaud, to help provide its clients with a secure, efficient way to accept card payments at events and through peer-to-peer solicitation. According to Blackbaud, non-profits are projected to double their investment in mobile technologies this year.
DSEF delivers programs that engage and educate the public on the ways direct selling empowers individuals, supports communities and strengthens economies worldwide. The foundation relies on voluntary contributions to continue its public service work and will accept donations from attendees throughout the DSA Annual Meeting via credit and debit cards using ROAM’s secure mPOS solutions (mobile card readers, merchant management portals and payment gateway).
“We’re proud to be working with DSEF on this project, as it’s not only a great example of how mPOS technology can be used for new use cases such as fundraising, but also benefits a cause we feel strongly about,” said Scott Holt, Vice President at ROAM. “Our mPOS solution has proven to be a huge advantage for fundraisers, as many donors are more likely to give higher contributions when paying with cards because they find the method fast, easy and secure.”
