Standard Bank Scoops Award for Excellence in Private Banking at the 22nd International Investment Awards

Standard Bank International Personal Banking (IPB) has received the prestigious award for Excellence in Private Banking for the third year running. Standard Bank International Personal Banking is part of the global arm of the Standard Bank Group, Africa’s largest bank by assets.

Organised by International Investment Magazine, the 2021 International Investment Awards took place virtually in October 2021. The annual awards, which recognise the exceptional accomplishments by leading industry players, are highly respected in the international investment and wealth advisor communities.

“This award serves as recognition of our ongoing commitment and dedication to providing exceptional services to clients across international markets. We are proud to be receiving this award for the third time in a row. This year’s award is particularly special, bearing testament to our ability to provide superior value to our clients – even in the face of continuing challenges because of COVID-19,” says Erik Olwagen, Head: South Africa Distribution for International Personal Banking at Standard Bank.

It was a double win for Standard Bank this year, with its IPB division also taking the Excellence in Client Service Industry award for Africa. “This accolade further highlights the hard work and tremendous efforts demonstrated by Standard Bank’s team to connect African clients to international markets and to assist them in diversifying their wealth. By doing so, the bank is helping enhance wealth creation and economic growth on the continent,” says Olwagen.

The Isle of Man was also recognized in this year’s awards and was named the International Finance Centre of the Year for the fourth time in five years.

Standard Bank has operated in the Isle of Man for nearly 30 years, and as such, is equipped with extensive knowledge of the financial landscape in the region. It provides comprehensive banking, investment and lending solutions for clients who are increasingly expanding their global footprint.
