Standard Bank Group is pleased to announce that it has been recognised as the ‘Best Transactional Bank for Financial Institutions in Africa’ and the ‘Best Trade Finance Services in Africa’ at the EMEA Finance’s Treasury Services Awards 2021.
These awards, launched in 2010, celebrate the achievements of banking institutions that have recorded consistent performance, demonstrated the highest standards of service, developed innovative products, and achieved overall excellence in the industry.
Standard Bank was recognised for its unique services including assisting clients to find and to vet new trading partners, offering competitive working capital and trade products, directing them to high quality logistic services at rates reserved for South Africa’s largest companies, and offering timely predictive all-in landed costs and delivery timelines for imports, which goes far beyond what is expected from a bank.
EMEA Finance also commended Standard Bank’s longstanding commitment to drive positive socio-economic impact and excellence within the financial services sector across Africa.
“We are proud to be awarded the ‘Best Transactional Bank for Financial Institutions in Africa’ and ‘Best Trade Finance Services in Africa’ by EMEA Finance. These awards are testament to our relentless focus on providing our clients with world leading solutions to support their ambitions and enable the growth of their businesses,” said Crosby Mkwanazi, Group Head of Transactional Products and Services at Standard Bank Group.
Standard Bank is undergoing a transformation from its current state as a trusted financial services provider across sub-Saharan Africa, to achieve its 2025 Ambition of becoming a client-centric, digitally-enabled platform business. In doing so, Standard Bank is creating new solutions and new partnerships to better serve clients and grow revenues.
The Group’s latest digital trade offering, QuantumTrade, is just one example of how Standard Bank is embracing the digital evolution and transforming client experiences. QuantumTrade enables clients to obtain a guarantee and letter of credit in less than two hours, and all online.
“Trade across Africa was hit particularly hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, and we have been forced to respond and adapt to the unforeseen challenges it presented to businesses across the continent. By delivering market-leading solutions for Africa, like QuantumTrade, we continue to enable businesses to accelerate and chart a sustainable path forward,” says Inwang Akpan, Group Head of Trade at Standard Bank Group.
This is the fifth Trade Finance award received by Standard Bank at the EMEA Finance’s Treasury Services Awards, winning the award more times than any other financial services institution.
“Such an accomplishment is not possible without our incredibly committed employees who are always going above and beyond and ensure that we provide exceptional client experiences. I extend my congratulations to all on this excellent achievement,” ended Akpan.
