In a previous article we discussed which big retailers are doing ecommerce in South Africa. With the word out that the South African ecommerce boom is on the way, we thought it would be a good idea to do a follow up article on which ecommerce sites are the popular in South Africa.
In order to do this we have used Alexa’s rankings of the top 500 sites in South Africa as of 03 October 2013 to benchmark. We have also included some ecommerce sites which are not included in Alexa’s top 500 sites but are still popular in South Africa.
For purposes of this exercise, we have excluded international brands from the list such as Amazon and ebay.
