VAI and Verifone Partner to Offer EMV-Ready Payment Solution

VAI, a leading ERP software provider, in conjunction with Verifone, announced the availability of S2K Point, a new solution from VAI backed by Verifone Point—Verifone’s North American Payment as a Service offering, which is certified for VAI’s S2K point of sale (POS) software. S2K Point will include Verifone’s EMV and NFC-enabled payment devices supported by Verifone’s Payment as a Service platform. The platform bundles deployment management and performance optimization, gateway and support services into a single integrated solution.

Payment as a Service from Verifone is built on Verifone’s Secure Commerce Architecture, which connects Verifone’s EMV and NFC-enabled payment terminals directly to the processors’ secure host or Verifone’s gateway—preventing sensitive payment data from entering or being stored in the POS software (electronic cash register). As a result, integrating S2K Point with Verifone’s Payment as a Service platform enables VAI to centrally manage its clients’ entire payment terminal deployment, and easily update their devices to comply with PCI changes and card-brand specific EMV requirements without having to re-certify each time software changes occur.

“Managing payments has become remarkably complex—especially for small and mid-sized merchants—considering the pending EMV liability shift as well as ongoing changes in PCI standards and requirements,” said Jim Surber, senior director of Payment as a Service in North America, Verifone. “This partnership not only enables VAI to simplify EMV migration for its merchants—it also helps them to reduce risk and payment complexity for merchants through enhanced security and payment terminal estate management.”

Key aspects of S2K Point include:

  • Integration between VAI’s Enterprise Management Software Suite
  • Cost-predictable subscription model that combines managed services with world-class hardware, software, gateway and support services
  • Decoupled POS system from the flow of sensitive payment information
  • End-to-end encryption of cardholder data from the terminal directly to the processor, or via Verifone’s secure gateway

“Our partnership with Verifone enables VAI to deliver the S2K community with the upmost in credit card transaction processing security,” said Kevin Beasley, CIO, VAI. “With the highly anticipated EMV shift due to take effect in the United States on October 1, 2015, we are proud to offer S2K customers an EMV migration option.”
