CardLinx Announces First Annual Card-linked Offers Forum in US

CardLinx, the new association that facilitates the interoperability and growth of card-linked offers (CLOs), will host the first annual CardLinx Forum on April 7, 2014 in Las Vegas. This is the first forum to focus specifically on the convergence of digital advertising and payments or card-linked offers. Speakers and panelists will discuss predictions and emerging trends in the CLO, mobile payments and ecommerce industries.

Speakers at the forum include Silvio Tavares, CardLinx President and founding CEO, as well as senior executives from companies including Microsoft, Bank of America, First Data, Deem, Linkable Networks and Living Social. Presentations will begin at 8:00 a.m. PT on April 7.

“Bringing industry experts together to collaboratively develop the next stage of the card-linked industry is very important,” said Tavares. “Right now the technology is very strategic and there are many ways that companies can benefit from card-linking to drive revenue both in-store and online.”

CLOs stand at the unique intersection of the payments, social media, advertising, and retail industries. As the “offers” space has become more popular, consumers have often found it cumbersome to take advantage of the variety and amount of offers available. CLOs help solve that problem by giving merchants and advertisers the ability to deliver a targeted offer or deal to consumers via their credit, debit or other payment cards without having to use a paper coupon, voucher or promotion code. Consumers simply link an offer to their card, and when the transaction is completed they receive the money back directly on their statement.
