Digital River, Inc., a leading global provider of Commerce-as-a-Service (CaaS) solutions, announced that it has won the 2015 Merchant Payment Ecosystem Award in the Payment Service Provider (PSP) category. Award judges weighed entrants’ strengths in several areas, including product innovation and geographic reach, and selected Digital River World Payments from a strong field of nominees.
As the 2015 PSP award winner, Digital River was recognized for its design and delivery of traditional and alternative payment solutions around the globe. Digital River’s unique value proposition as a payment service provider is grounded in the company’s more than 20 years of experience acting as a merchant of record for businesses in more than 240 countries and territories. This merchant serving merchants approach, along with processing more than $30 billion in online transactions annually, provides the company tremendous insights into what online growth strategies work – as well as don’t work – on a country-by-country basis.
“Digital River operates as a merchant serving merchants, which puts them in a unique position to anticipate and understand the choices merchants make as they select a payment processor and build a payments program,” says Leon Dhaene, chairman of the Guiding Hand Awards. “The jury appreciated that Digital River supported more than 200 payment methods worldwide providing a wide choice to the company’s merchants,” Leon adds.
“We are honored to win this prestigious award, which recognizes our customers’ success as much as our own,” said Souheil Badran, Digital River’s senior vice president and general manager of Digital River World Payments. “Winning our customers’ trust as well as truly partnering with them to solve complex global payment issues and support their aggressive growth objectives are at the forefront of everything we do.”
The Digital River World Payments solution offers a full complement of PSP services. This includes full access to the standard payment toolkit to allow merchants to take payments anywhere, accept online and mobile payments, and offer virtual terminal and tokenization services. The breadth and flexibility of service gives Digital River customers an increased speed to market, while enabling their global expansion plans with profitable growth.
The award was presented at the eighth annual Merchant Payment Ecosystem (MPE) Conference in Berlin. It has become one of Europe’s leading merchant payments events. The award recipients are chosen by payments industry veterans.
