Stanbic Bank Tanzania has unveiled new modern touch-screen automated teller machines (ATMs), which are said to be the first of their kind in the country.
“We are launching yet another first from Stanbic Bank,” said Farha Mohamed, Head of Self Service Channels. “Our new ATM’s are the latest version in the market, with the added advantage of the inter-account transfer functionality.
The new ATM’s are just one of the many ways we are moving our customers forward.” Five of the new touch-screen ATMs have already been installed in Dar es Salaam, and the next batch will go to Arusha and Mwanza, after which they will be rolled out to other regions.
Stanbic Bank currently has 34 ATM’s, conveniently located throughout the regions in which it operates. This is in addition to its mobile banking and internet banking offerings. Stanbic Bank Tanzania is part of the Standard Bank Group, Africa’s largest bank by assets.
Standard Bank Group had total assets of about US$ 165 billion at 31 December 2014, while its market capitalisation was (about US$20 billion).
The group has direct, on-the-ground representation in 20 African countries. Standard Bank Group has almost 560 branches and 1, 223 ATMs in Africa, making it one of the largest banking networks on the continent.
