Stanchion, a leading payments fintech solutions company, has appointed Norman Frankel, as managing director for Europe and the UK bringing significant payment industry experience with him. Frankel, who will be based in the UK office, will help Stanchion to unlock growth opportunities across the region and to refine its offering for the European market.
Frankel has more than 25 years of experience in the payments industry, with deep expertise in digital and customer-not-present (CNP) channels. As the founder and CEO of Mi-Pay, Frankel led a successful prepay CNP business to a listing on the London AIM Stock Exchange and to joining ePay, the world’s largest retail top-up and digital content processor.
Apart from establishing Mi-Pay, Frankel has held senior positions at iCyber-Security, ePay, NatWest Bank and Logica (now CGI). In addition to his exposure to Stanchion’s technology as a user at Mi-Pay and as a business partner at Logica, Frankel brings a wealth of merchant processing experience in retail and mobile/digital payments, cyber-security and fraud prevention to his new role.
Graham Williams, Group CEO of Stanchion, said: “We are delighted to welcome Norman to the team. His vast experience of the payments industry, his track record as an innovative thinker, and his passion for helping clients build agile solutions will make him a real asset to our team.”
Frankel added: “I’m excited to join an organisation with such a dynamic and talented team and such an ambitious strategy to grow its presence in the European digital payments sector. My aim will be to open new opportunities for Stanchion by aligning its powerful set of payment offerings even more closely with the needs of the regional market.”
Whilst Stanchion has been operational since 2001, it has had a dedicated presence in the UK and Europe market since 2014 working as trusted technical payment advisors and payment technology integrators, with well known retail brands, banks and payment processors.
In bringing Frankel into the team Stanchion will also engage with more digital commerce clients and help clients with the rapidly growing focus area of security and compliance.
