TNM has sealed a deal with the Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (Escom) which will see TNM customers paying their Escom bills or buying electricity units through TNM Mobile Money or mobile payment service also known as ‘Mpamba’.
The signing ceremony took place at Protea RyaIls Hotel in Blantyre. Speaking during the ceremony, TNM Chief Commercial Officer Charles Kamoto said Mpamba will help deliver the expectations of subscribers.
“Customers have their needs such as electricity in their houses. There is no need to go to an Escom pay point to pay bills or buy electricity units. You can do that in your house or wherever you are as long as you have a TNM mobile number,” Kamoto said.
Escom Marketing and Business Development Manager, Wiseman Kabwazi said the system is also very convenient to Escom customers because they can buy electricity at any time.
He said the system will help to make Escom services available 24 hours a day to TNM subscribers. Kabwazi said through the partnership, TNM subscribers will be able to enquire bills as well as pay the right amount and avoid disconnection for non payment.
“This product from TNM is one of the products that would simplify the life of Malawians.” he said.
