ACI Worldwide Appoints Manish Patel as General Manager for Middle East and Africa

ACI Worldwide, the leading global provider of electronic payment and banking solutions, announces the appointment of Manish Patel as General Manager, Middle East and Africa.

Manish will focus on deepening ACI’s key customer relationships in the region and ensuring that product development meets the evolving needs of the local market. Manish joins ACI following the company’s acquisition of Retail Decisions (ReD), a leader in fraud prevention solutions. Manish worked with ReD for 14 years, most recently as Regional President for EMEA.

ACI enjoys a market-leading position in Africa, working with many of the Continent’s leading retailers and financial institutions, including the five largest banks and three of the top five retailers in Africa. Through offerings such as UP BASE24-eps and Postilion, ACI provides its customers with a range of end-to-end payments services. When combined with ReD’s global industry-leading retail fraud prevention offerings, ACI delivers the industry’s most robust payments and fraud solution to merchants in the region.

“The payments industry is very active across the Middle East and Africa today and Manish has significant experience in these markets,” said Paul Thomalla, Senior Vice President EMEA at ACI Worldwide. “ACI is committed to supporting banks and retailers as they expand their businesses, take advantage of new payments channels and better cater to an ever-evolving customer base.”

Through the successful deployment of Postilion and UP BASE24-eps across non-English speaking countries in Europe, ACI now intends to focus on French and Portuguese speaking countries in Southeast and West Africa.

“Africa presents particularly exciting opportunities for the payments industry, with some countries enjoying the fastest growing economies in the world,” said Patel. “We look forward to helping our customers take advantage of the latest payments innovations, reducing costs, improving key business decision-making and, ultimately, driving their bottom lines.”
