Every dollar matters when people are starting and running a new company. Every dime, every penny. PayPal itself was a very small startup company just 15 years ago. PayPal also knows how important the startup ecosystem is becoming and that’s how their Startup Blueprint program was born.
If you want to accept payments from your customers in multiple countries and currencies from day one, PayPal is already your best partner for that. But starting today, you also can do it for free!
How does this work? they are starting this program with top incubators and accelerators, such as 500Startups, Seedcamp and Elevator, but eventually any startup will be able to apply.
As part of the program, not only up to $50,000 in processing fees will be waived in the first 18 months, but they will also provide white glove, developer-focused customer service.
To be eligible for the program, startups must focus on making mobile or web software or services, make less than $3 million USD in annual revenue or be less than five years old. Companies must be nominated by PayPal, or one of the accelerators or incubators enrolled in the Startup Blueprint program. They will be opening it up soon for other startups that want to apply.
“500Startups has a massive community of developers and startups around the world. Working with PayPal is important to us because we are on the edge of innovation and they are too, which is beneficial for the whole startup ecosystem,” said Christen O’Brien, Partner, 500Startups. “We’re excited about the PayPal Startup Blueprint program because it gives our startups additional tools and support to help turn a great idea into the next successful mobile or Web company.”
